Semi-trailer ‘Black Box’ Technology Aids in Crash Investigation

Trucking accidents cause thousands of catastrophic and devastating injuries and deaths each year, resulting in lawsuits which can often take an extended time to settle. During this time, victims may be faced with mounting medical bills, mortgage payments, household bills, or even worse – funeral expenses. The financial strain can not only seriously impacts one’s life, it can also impact the case. Litigation funding may be the best non-risk solution to avoid an early settlement.

A mother, father, and 3-year-old daughter were killed when a semi driver ran a red light and T-boned their Jeep Cherokee. After hitting the Jeep, the truck hit two other vehicles. Those drivers were treated and released at the scene. The truck driver was transported to the hospital for serious injuries after a two-hour effort to extricate him from the semi.

The preliminary investigation pointed to inattentive driving by the semi operator as the cause of the accident. Police are reviewing footage available from gas station surveillance cameras that were located next to the wreck, and also said they have pulled the semi’s “black box” which indicates that the semi driver was speeding. The investigation is ongoing.

The last thing the family of the deceased needs is to face legal and financial issues, but it is important for them to contact an experienced attorney to understand their rights.
No matter how obvious it may appear that the truck driver is at fault, this is by no means an open and shut case. The claim can still take years to settle as the trucking company and its insurance provider do everything in their power to avoid liability. They may claim the semi suffered an unforeseeable mechanical issue or even that the victims were at least partially negligent.

Wrongful death accidents such as this one often financial hardship. If family and friends can’t provide monetary support until the case settles, where else can the family turn for help?

Litigation funding is a non-recourse cash advance against the future proceeds of the case. It is a smart, strategic move because it allows plaintiffs pay medical expenses, funeral and burial expenses, and ongoing monthly bills during the litigation process.

Once a request for funding is received, Lawsuit Financial works directly with the plaintiff’s attorney to determine the strength of the case. Credit standing and employment history are not factors in our funding decision. Most times, we can have a funding decision within 24 – 48 hours. Best of all, there are no payments until the case settles. If the case is lost, the cash advance does not have to be repaid. Where else can you obtain a “risk-free lawsuit loan”?

If you have been injured or lost a loved one in an auto accident, begin by consulting an experienced attorney. Once you are in a pending lawsuit, if you need financial assistance, call Lawsuit Financial or complete our online application. It may be the difference between settling for less too early and waiting for a fair judgment later.

Party Bus Accident Sparks New Concerns over Safety

A 27-year-old man was celebrating a friend’s birthday when he walked to the front of the limo party bus to change the radio volume. The bus was traveling at 70 mph when the driver “negotiated the bend” in such a manner that caused the man to stumble and fall down the stairs leading to the exit door. The door opened and the man fell out onto the expressway where he was hit by an SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force injuries. The SUV driver did not stop, but front bumper fell off and was left behind.

The driver of the bus was cited for not carrying a valid medical card and for not having the proper license to transport. Commercial drivers are required to carry medical cards indicating they've seen a physician within the past year to certify they're healthy enough to operate a commercial vehicle, according to Illinois state police.

The accident is still under investigation and investigators are working to determine whether there was anything functionally wrong with the bus. Police are also still searching for the SUV involved in the crash.

In the meantime, the family of the deceased filed a lawsuit against two suburban transportation companies. The suit alleges that both companies were negligent when they failed to prevent the doors of the bus from opening while it was moving. Additionally, the companies did not ensure passenger safety when they required passengers to manually operate the music system near the stairs and exit door.

An attorney representing one of the defendants said it was a freak and tragic accident not negligence, adding that the bus had been recently inspected by the state. The attorney also said that he didn't know of any rules the company gives to bus passengers, but that riders should know it's safer to remain seated.

The lawsuit seeks $50,000 in damages from each company.

No matter the circumstances, losing a loved one is a painful experience. However, when the loved one’s death is due to the negligence of another person, family members can face unexpected funeral expenses and loss of income. The financial roller coaster may be as equally painful as the loss. The family should not be forced to conduct settlement negotiations when they are struggling, financially. If they do, they will, almost always, accept an offer that is less than full case value.

Lawsuit Financial can assist victims and family members through the difficult financial issues facing them. We provide non-recourse lawsuit funding to help financially strapped plaintiffs take care of life’s necessities (mortgage, rent, food, utilities, gas, car payments, medical expenses, funeral expenses, etc.) during a pending claim. Our quick and easy approval process can take less than 48 hours. There are no upfront fees, monthly payments, credit checks or employment verifications. Lawsuit funding is a risk-free option because there is nothing to lose. If the family loses the case, the cash advance is completely waived.

If a loved one has been killed because of someone’s negligence, contact an experienced attorney. If you are suffering financially while waiting for a wrongful death lawsuit to settle, consider lawsuit funding to give you a strategic advantage against the insurance company. Lawsuit Funding is a Fast Cash Lifeline while Awaiting a Settlement from a Serious Auto Accident

When you have been involved in an auto accident, especially one that results in serious injuries, it is important to understand your rights and the process of seeking compensation. An auto accident attorney can significantly improve the chances of your claim resolving successfully. However, if the claim is not settling quickly and you need money to pay the bills, lawsuit funding may be an option.

An Oklahoma man has filed a lawsuit against the driver of another vehicle and a freight carrier company alleging driver negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in May 2015, he was hit by the other driver who negligently made an unsafe and illegal turn across the left hand lane and collided with plaintiff's vehicle. The plaintiff said he sustained severe and permanent injuries as a result. He holds the defendants responsible alleging failure to keep a proper lookout, failure to properly apply brakes and failure to take proper evasive action to avoid a crash.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and an undisclosed amount in damages.

From medical bills to lost wages, the aftermath of an accident can be devastating. As long as the case is strong and the plaintiff has attorney representation, lawsuit funding is usually an option.

Lawsuit funding is a cash advance of an expected settlement. Its main purpose is to assist plaintiffs with the likely loss of wages, mounting medical bills, daily household expenses, and other out-of-pocket expenses until a settlement is reached. Unlike a traditional bank loan; funding can be obtained without the need for a credit check or employment verification; the only collateral required is a pending lawsuit. Funding is based strictly on case strength and repayment is only made once the case successfully settles. If the case is lost, the repayment obligation is completely waived.

The first step is to complete our one-page online application. Once received, the legal finance company will contact your attorney for case documentation. Our in-house review team can evaluate your application and typically make a funding decision within 24 hours. Not only is it free to apply for funding, but there are no application fees or monthly payments. Once approved, the money can be wired directly into your bank account; you may use it however you wish.

Don’t let financial worries hinder full recovery. If you were involved in an auto accident, suffered injuries and can’t borrow money from a bank, friend, or family, you may benefit from a non-recourse lawsuit cash advance. Contact Lawsuit Financial! Our experienced staff would be happy to answer all your questions and help you understand the lawsuit funding process.

Driver Ran Red Light Killing a Woman and Her Granddaughter

Many drivers will run a red light or stop sign simply because they are in a hurry or distracted. Some will speed up at a yellow light trying to get through the intersection before the light turns red. Occasionally, a red light accident will happen because a traffic light has malfunctioned. Negligence on the part of driver or government entity can result in an auto accident lawsuit, but it may take time for authorities to determine the cause of the crash. When a delay occurs in the litigation process and the plaintiff is struggling financially, lawsuit funding can be a viable, risk-free solution.

A woman and one of her grandchildren were killed in a multi-vehicle crash after another driver ran a red light. Two other grandchildren were injured. Firefighters had to cut the victims from the vehicle. The driver responsible for the crash has been charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter, and six counts of recklessly endangering another person. Court records show that she was cited in November 2016 for allegedly failing to stop at a red light and for speeding in December 2016.

There are no words that can comfort family members of such a tragic accident, especially when the death not only resulted from the negligence of another person, but could have been prevented. The surviving family members may wish to pursue and wrongful death lawsuit seeking damages for medical bills, funeral expenses, pain and suffering, loss of companionship, mental anguish, and other damages.

Handling a wrongful death case is not an easy task. There are a number of legal issues that arise and because insurance companies are well represented by adjusters and attorneys, it is important for the family to seek and retain an experienced auto accident attorney.

Unfortunately, the legal process can drag on for years; insurance companies are notorious for dragging out a claim until the victim gives in to the lowest possible settlement. In order to wait for a fair settlement, yet avoid experiencing a shortfall in finances that could lead to a significant financial hardship, a plaintiff may benefit from lawsuit funding.

Once an attorney is retained and the lawsuit has been filed, it could be as little as six months, but more likely a year – or even years – until a trial date. It is not uncommon for the defendant’s attorney to delay in hopes that the plaintiff will settle too soon for too little. In the meantime, the litigation process can put a strain on financial resources, especially if the family was already struggling to pay the bills. Lawsuit funding can often be the financial staying power necessary to pursue the case to trial.

Lawsuit funding is a cash advance that can assist with mortgage/rent payments, funeral costs, medical expenses, and other household living expenses during the pending claim. To be eligible for funding, all a plaintiff needs is a strong case and legal representation. There is no need for a credit check or employment verification. Lawsuit funding is provided on a non-recourse basis. This means that there are no payments until the case settles. If the case is lost, there is no obligation to repay the cash advance. Funding can be approved in as little as 24 hours, with the funds wired directly into the plaintiff’s bank account or a check sent via overnight mail.

If you are in a pending personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit, don’t let your losses extend to your finances. Contact Lawsuit Financial at (877) 377-7848 or complete our online contact form to determine if a lawsuit cash advance can provide the financial staying power you need to achieve full compensation for damages.

Plaintiffs Don’t Have To Settle For Less Out Of Desperate Need For Money

When someone is killed due to the negligence of someone else, legal action by the family of a deceased loved one can be taken. This process oftentimes requires an experienced attorney to obtain full and just compensations for damages. Even then, a lawsuit or legal claim may take months, even years to receive the highest possible settlement. During this time, most plaintiffs will face financial hardship, especially if the lost loved one was the primary breadwinner. No one wants more debt by racking up credit cards or taking out a bank loan -- that is if a bank would even extend a loan. Lawsuit funding may be the only hope to withstand the litigation process and avoid a financial disaster such as foreclosure, eviction, bankruptcy and ruined credit.

Two children of a man killed in a head-on collision filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the estate of the woman who caused the crash. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police report. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt.

The lawsuit alleges that the woman was driving too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way, traveled in the wrong direction, and was driving under the influence at the time of the crash. The suit seeks unspecified damages to compensate for the man’s death, as well as to pay for funeral and other expenses.

Now that the lawsuit has been filed, if the plaintiffs are in need of immediate cash they may want to consider lawsuit funding.

Lawsuit funding is cash received in advance of a settlement that, hopefully, will permit the plaintiffs to deal with their crucial expenses right away, enabling them to wait out the long, legal process and achieve appropriate justice. The funding process begins with completing a one-page application. Next, Lawsuit Financial will request case documentation to determine the strength of the case; there are no application fees, credit checks or employment verification. If the case is approved for a lawsuit cash advance, the money can arrive within 24 – 48 hours. Repayment is only made once the case is won and the settlement received. If the case is lost, the plaintiff is under no obligation to repay the cash advance.

For any victim of an auto accident who has retained an attorney, filed a lawsuit, and in need of financial assistance, Lawsuit Financial encourages you to call us before settling for less than full case value or struggling to the point of losing your home and credit standing. Call us toll free at 1-877-377-7848 for a free, no-obligation analysis of your case funding situation.

A Passenger Filed a Lawsuit against a Driver and his Employer, Alleging Negligence

When an auto accident occurs while a negligent driver is driving in order to perform his/her work duties, the employer may be held liable. Two ways that an employer can be held liable for a car accident caused by an employee is employer negligence in the form of hiring, training and supervision and vicarious liability. Vicarious liability is a legal concept that holds someone who is not directly involved in an accident responsible for accidental or intentional damages caused by someone else. For example, the owner of an automobile may be responsible for an accident caused by the driver of that automobile. An employer or supervisor may be liable for the negligent or intentional actions of their employees.

The point, obviously, is that if you have been injured, there may be multiple unknown parties who are responsible for the conduct of the person who directly caused your injury. They may have potential legal liability; it is your attorney’s job to make certain that all who are responsible are held to accountability.

A woman has filed a lawsuit against a carpet manufacturer and one of its drivers, alleging negligence caused an auto accident and ultimately her injuries.

According to the complaint, on April 4, 2013, the woman was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by her mother. The suit alleges that a van owned by the carpet manufacturer, crossed the center line, causing a head-on collision with the vehicle in which she was riding. As a result, the plaintiff sustained serious and permanent injuries, disfigurement, mental anguish and other damages. She alleges the negligent driver improperly crossed the center line, entered the lane in which her mother was driving, and failed to maintain proper lookout.

The plaintiff seeks trial by jury and an undisclosed amount in compensatory and general damages.

Now that the lawsuit has been filed, if the plaintiff does not have the financial ability to wait out the litigation process for a settlement or verdict, she may wish to consider litigation funding.

Litigation funding is a valuable service that helps plaintiffs pay medical expenses and ongoing monthly bills during the litigation process so plaintiffs are not forced to settle their valuable case for less than it is worth. Qualifying for litigation funding is easy with Lawsuit Financial because we provide the cash advance based on the strength of the case. If approved, the lawsuit cash advance can be received within 24 – 48 hours. There is no credit check and no income or employment requirements. In addition, paying back the advance is only made after the case settles. If, for any reason, the case is lost, the repayment is completely waived.

If you have been seriously injured due to the negligence of another driver, and struggling financially, let Lawsuit Financial provide a financial vehicle so you are not forced to settle for less than you deserve. Contact us online or via phone at (877) 377-7848 for a free, no-obligation consultation. Innocent Woman Killed In DUI Street-Racing Crash

According to police reports, two men were street racing when the driver of a BMW struck a woman’s SUV. The SUV then veered into another lane and was struck by the other street-racer’s vehicle. The female driver of the SUV died the next day from internal injuries. The fatal crashed happened on a busy road in Frontenac, Missouri on July 8, 2016.

A lawyer for the family of the deceased woman said two vehicles were racing at more than 110 mph before the crash, based on accident reconstruction analysis and downloads of “black box” recorder data from the racing vehicles. He said the family was waiting until the investigation was complete to decide whether to file a wrongful-death case.

Authorities originally said they planned to seek manslaughter charges against both men, but recently the driver of the BMW was charged with second-degree murder. Prosecutors said the second-degree murder charge was warranted because the man has a prior offense of driving while intoxicated. He pleaded guilty of driving while intoxicated in 2001 in St. Charles County, and he was convicted in 2002 of a similar crime in Los Angeles, according to records.

It is always a tragedy to lose a family member to a senseless act such as this, but the pain in this case may be worse knowing that this fatal crash was caused by a man who made a career out of defending people such as this victim and her family. As a personal injury attorney he was well aware of the consequences of his negligent actions.

If a lawsuit is filed and the plaintiffs need financial assistance, they may want to consider auto accident litigation funding. Auto accident lawsuit funding is a service that provides financial assistance to victims and their families while they wait for their case to be concluded and for justice to prevail.

Litigation funding will help pay necessary bills and expenses, such as medical bills, funeral and burial expenses, auto payments, rent, and other damages as a result of injuries or loss. It is provided based on the merits of the case and the time it will take to achieve that outcome. Funding can often be available in less than 48 hours after receipt of a completed application. There are no monthly fees, no credit checks, and no employment verification. Repayment of the cash advance is only required when the case concludes successfully. If the plaintiff loses, the repayment is waived in its entirety.

Financial relief during the litigation process is only a phone call away. But, it is important to choose an experienced funding company to guide you appropriately. Lawsuit Financial has been a leader in the legal finance industry for over 17 years. We are one of a few legal funding companies where funding comes from our own resources. Don’t let the finish line leave you settling too early for too little. Call us today to discuss funding options available for your case.

A tour bus plowed into the back of a semi-truck on a Southern California highway over the weekend, killing 13 people, including the bus driver, and injuring at least 31 others, some critically.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP said the bus was travelling significantly faster than the truck, but it is unclear whether the bus driver was speeding. The impact pushed the trailer about 15 feet into the bus. Firefighters used ladders to climb into the bus windows to remove bodies and tow trucks lifted the trailer to make it easier to reach the bus, whose front end was demolished. It took nearly two hours to separate the vehicles.

The CHP had been slowing traffic for hours that day to allow Southern California Edison workers to string wires across Interstate 10. The bus was carrying 44 passengers who were returning from a trip to the casino. The driver was one of the owners of the bus company, which typically ferries people from LA to nearby casinos.

Investigators will be looking into the cause including whether alcohol, drugs or fatigue played a role in the crash. Records showed that the bus had been inspected in 2014, 2015 and April 2016 with no mechanical deficiencies reported. Additionally, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration records show the bus had a satisfactory safety rating.

The charter bus company was sued once for wrongful death and twice for personal injury claims in the past, although all three lawsuits were eventually dismissed, according to court records. The defendant succeeded in having the lawsuit dismissed in June 2009 because the plaintiffs failed to provide information sought through the discovery process in court. In addition to the lawsuits, the driver had been cited twice for speeding.

Although his death means there will be no criminal charges stemming from this accident, wrongful death lawsuits will most likely be filed against the bus driver’s estate and his company. Due to the complexity of the lawsuits, those injured and families of the deceased may be experiencing financial duress to the point where help is needed.

Lawsuit funding is available to pay the mortgage/rent, funeral expenses, utilities, groceries, and any other important bill or expense while waiting for a settlement to be reached. A lawsuit cash advance gives plaintiffs a strategic advantage by providing leverage against the insurance company so the plaintiffs avoid accepting inadequate settlement offers. The application process is quick and easy because funding is based completely on the strength and merit of the lawsuit. We do not charge application or upfront fees, nor do we need a credit check or employment verification. Additionally, there are absolutely no payments made until the case settles; if the case is lost, repayment of the cash advance is waived.

If you were injured or lost a loved one in a bus or auto accident, it is important to contact an attorney to help recover compensation for your loss. When you need help with life’s necessities, contact Lawsuit Financial. When you know your bills and expenses are covered, it is much easier to fight for justice.

Was Fatal Crash with Tractor Trailer Driver Negligence or Result of a Known Dangerous Roadway?

A man was killed after his pick-up truck collided with a concrete lamppost on Route 22 near Delmont, PA. Debris — a lawnmower, power washer, rake and wheelbarrow — was scattered across the highway from a small trailer the pickup was pulling.
A tractor-trailer and six other vehicles were involved in the collision. The man in the pick-up truck was trapped inside his vehicle. It took firefighters nearly an hour to cut the roof and rescue him. The man died at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Two other people were taken to area hospitals for injuries.
State police spent several hours reconstructing the scene trying to determine what caused the crash. The investigations will undoubtedly look into driver negligence as well as whether the roadway was knowingly dangerous.
The crash site is the same location of a similar accident that injured three people nearly a year ago when a tractor-trailer hit a car, and airborne debris from that crash struck a road construction worker setting up signs. In this collision, the tractor-trailer careened across the median; its cab pushed a pick-up truck into several other vehicles. Firefighters had to extricate the driver from the pick-up.
Are these two accidents a coincidence or do they indicate a stretch of unsafe road? A poorly designed roadway, intersection, or means of controlling traffic, such as a traffic light can cause or contribute to an auto accident. Poorly placed and poorly designed road signs or barriers can also be a factor.
Whether driver negligence, dangerous road conditions, or a combination, it is always difficult to hear about the loss of a loved one. During this time, the last thing the family needs is to face legal and financial issues, but it is important to contact an experienced auto accident attorney to understand their rights. If it is determined that a cause of action exists for a lawsuit and the family needs financial assistance, lawsuit funding may be a short-term solution.
Lawsuit funding is a non-recourse cash advance against the future proceeds of the case to help ease the financial burden and give the plaintiff's attorney the time needed to obtain full case value. The process to apply for a lawsuit cash advance is easy and it's also free. Funding decisions are typically made within 24 – 48 hours of receiving an application and applicable case documentation. The only payment made is when the case successfully settles. If the case is lost, the repayment is completely waived.
Suffering injuries are the loss of a loved one is enough of a hardship; don’t succumb to a financial hardship. Lawsuit Funding: A No-Risk Financial Solution During A Pending Wrongful Death Lawsuit

A South Carolina woman is facing charges of driving under the influence resulting in death following a car-motorcycle accident. She has also been distribution of a controlled substance and driving too fast for conditions.

After someone dies in an auto crash, grieving family members are often left with many questions. What caused the accident? Could it have been avoided? What do they do now that their loved one is gone? Whiles sometimes auto accidents happen through no one's fault, often times they are due to negligence. In such cases, family members should pursue a wrongful death claim to uphold the victim's rights and begin the financial recovery process. A personal injury attorney can stand up for the rights of the family, but achieving maximum compensation can take time. Unfortunately, many victims are not in a financial position to wait out the litigation process because bills must be paid. If the plaintiff is unemployed or has poor credit, banks will usually not grant a loan. Even if approved for a bank loan, the victim would be required to make monthly payments and repayment would be required no matter the outcome of the case. Insurance companies know all this and won’t hesitate to pressure victims into accepting the lowest possible settlement. Before that happens, a better option would be lawsuit funding, a cash advance against the pending lawsuit.

A legal funding company understands the financial situation facing plaintiffs and knows the lengths that insurance companies will go through to reach a less-than-fair settlement offer. With a lawsuit cash advance, plaintiffs can level the playing field and push for justice. Funding is collateralized solely by the pending lawsuit. There are no upfront fees, no credit or employment checks and no monthly payments. Repayment of the cash advance is from the proceeds of the case, but if the plaintiff loses, the repayment is waived in its entirety.

If you or a loved one has been a victim of an auto accident caused by a negligent driver or your loved one was killed by a driver under the influence, consult a personal injury attorney who is knowledgeable and experienced in auto accidents. If you have mounting bills and expenses and feel the need to reach a quick settlement, stop! Apply for lawsuit funding with Lawsuit Financial to ease the financial burden and give your attorney time to obtain full value in your case. The application process is quick and easy, and can be done online. Once we determine if a case has merit and is approved for funding, you can have cash in hand within 24 - 48 hours. Contact us today for a free, no-obligation evaluation of your case.
