Three Dead, Two Injured after Small Plane Crashes into California Homes

Three people are dead and two others injured after a Cessna 310 plane crashed into two Southern California homes.

The plane was carrying a couple from San Jose and three teenagers who were on their way home from a cheerleading competition at Disneyland. All victims were onboard the plane at the time of the crash. One of the teenagers was thrown from a back seat on impact; she suffered minor injuries. She was treated and released from an area hospital. Firefighters pulled another passenger from one of the burning homes. That victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The three deceased were found in the combined wreckage of the aircraft and the homes. No homeowners were injured.

The plane was broken into hundreds of pieces, its propeller sitting on the roof of a nearby home, and the fire burning with jet fuel was still ablaze several hours after the crash. The two homes that were directly hit burned to the ground; neighboring homes suffered minor damage. Debris was scattered across front lawns, landing as far as a half-mile away, according to reports.

The crash will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Determining the cause(s) may take years to unfold.

There are a host of different reasons this fatal crash could have happened. It could have been due to pilot error. It could have been caused by a mechanical problem, known or unknown.  It could have been due to the failure to properly maintain and inspect the aircraft.  It could have been the result of a defective product.

No matter how this investigation concludes, victims should seek legal advice from an experienced attorney as soon as possible. They may be able to receive compensation for serious injuries and wrongful deaths, as well as damages for pain and suffering, lost wages, medical bills, funeral expenses, and other damages.

Once a lawsuit is filed, if the victims are suffering immediate financial problems, Lawsuit Financial can provide immediate financial assistance. This service, known as lawsuit funding, helps plaintiffs pay necessary bills and expenses during the litigation process.

It is easy to apply for this lawsuit cash advance online or by phone and there are no costs or fees associated with the application. There are also no monthly payments, credit checks, or employment verification. If approved, the lawsuit cash advance would arrive within 24-48 hours by check or by wire. Repayment is contingent upon the outcome of the case; if the plaintiff loses their case, the lawsuit cash advance is waived in its entirety. Where else can you obtain a “risk-free lawsuit loan”?

Lawsuit Funding Helps Plaintiffs Seeking Justice in Auto-Pedestrian Accident

A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle while he was in a marked crosswalk.

According to a news report, a driver was negotiating a turn when he hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was transported to an area trauma center, where he died a few hours later. The accident is still under investigation, but police do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors.

Under California law, drivers are required to stop and yield the right of way to pedestrians who are walking in marked and unmarked crosswalks. If the driver is found at fault, he/she can be held liable for the pedestrian’s wrongful death.

A wrongful death attorney can ensure that the family’s rights are protected and decide the best course of action in recovering the maximum compensation for funeral and burial expenses, anticipated and future lifetime earnings, loss of love, care and companionship, and other damages related to this pedestrian accident. An experienced attorney can also help determine whether dangerous or defective road conditions were contributing factors. If the road conditions are determined to be dangerous to the public, the city may also be liable for the pedestrian’s wrongful death.

While the family may eventually receive a financial settlement to compensate them for their loss, it can be a long and complicated process. The last thing they need to deal with during the pain and grief process is legal and financial issues. Yet, it is important to avoid the trap of agreeing to settle too early for too little.

When plaintiffs in a pending claim experience a shortfall in their finances, they may benefit from a “lawsuit loan”, known more accurately as lawsuit funding.

Lawsuit funding is a valuable service that removes the financial pressure to settle too early for too little compensation, and allows plaintiffs to continue with the litigation so they receive the compensation and justice deserved.

The only eligibility requirements are attorney representation and a strong case. There are no application fees, credit checks, employment history verifications, or monthly payments. Once an application is completed and case documentation is received, the underwriters at Lawsuit Financial will review the case for funding. If approved, we can wire transfer or overnight mail the cash advance within 24 – 48 hours. Best of all, lawsuit funding is a non-recourse cash advance meaning if the plaintiff loses the case, the lawsuit funding is excused and the money does not have to be repaid.

Don’t let bills pile up and ruin your credit. If you are seriously injured or lost a loved one in a pedestrian-auto accident due to the negligence of someone else, you may be able to recover damages for medical bills, funeral expenses, loss wages, and pain and suffering. Begin by contacting an attorney who specializes in handling pedestrian accidents. Once your case is filed, contact Lawsuit Financial before the agreeing to a less-than-favorable settlement. A request for funding can be handled online or over the phone. We also provide free funding consultations.

Couple Killed in Motorcycle Crash Leave behind Two Young Children

On February 18, the weather was unusually warm in southeastern Michigan. A Marysville couple decided to take the opportunity to go for a ride on their motorcycle. On the way home that evening, they were killed in a crash. A witness told police that the man was operating the motorcycle when it struck a curb. The impact threw the couple off the motorcycle.

At the scene, police found the man in the grass and the female passenger lying in the road. There was a wrecked Harley Davidson nearby. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene; the man died at the hospital the next evening after being taken off life support. Neither was wearing a helmet. The couple leave behind two daughters, nine and eight-months-old. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

This fatal crash could have been due to a distraction, defective tire, an object in the road, speeding, or a host of other reasons. No matter the cause, many people think that something like this will never happen to them, but it can.

Would a helmet have saved this couple? Possibly.

Studies have shown that those who have been involved in a motorcycle accident while wearing a helmet suffer far less head injuries and/or are less seriously hurt than those not wearing protective head gear. Yet, many motorcyclists and their passengers still don’t wear one.

Although it is only February and cold weather isn’t completely behind us, more warm days will surely come and go. Make sure these safety tips don’t.
  • Check the bike before each ride including tire tread, air pressure, battery, headlights, oil and other fluids, frame and suspension.
  • Follow the rules of the road. Obey speed limits and all traffic signals, and use hand signals for turning. Don’t follow too closely and don’t weave in and out of lanes.
  • Practice defensive riding. Avoid riding in blind spots, use turn signals, and extra caution when passing a vehicle.
  • Position yourself to be seen. Use lane placement to help you see further and others to see you.
  • Use protective eyewear and wear protective clothing to serve as a buffer from the impact of an accident.
  • Use a helmet even if it is not required in your state.

Lawsuit Funding: When Pain and Suffering of an Auto Accident Goes Beyond the Physical

A woman and a child suffered serious injuries in a collision involving an alleged drunk driver.

An initial investigation revealed that the drunk driver crossed the yellow line and collided with the woman’s vehicle head-on. Following a preliminary investigation, the negligent driver was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. The crash remains under investigation.

The pain and suffering from an auto accident often goes beyond the physical and includes financial pain and suffering, especially if unable to work while recovering. For many, even after returning to work, there is a financial void that is hard to recover from until a settlement is reached. When the bills are not handled in a timely manner, it can result in late fees, disconnected services, foreclosure, eviction, even bankruptcy. This can negatively impact one’s credit score, as well. A plaintiff will most likely not be approved for a bank loan because banks do not recognize pending lawsuits as a viable asset. Without some other form of collateral or immediate means to repay the loan, a bank will not take the risk. Without another source of funds such as family or friends, plaintiffs will usually consider a less-than-favorable settlement. For these reasons, lawsuit funding has become important resource for plaintiffs.

Lawsuit funding is a non-recourse cash advance that provides immediate financial relief to plaintiffs who desperately need to take care of bills and expenses while their attorney does his job to obtain a full case settlement. Plaintiffs can receive an advance months -- and even years -- in advance of their case reaching a resolution and compensation being paid.

Lawsuit Financial specializes in pre-settlement auto accident lawsuit funding. Once we receive an application, one of our funding specialists will request case documentation from the plaintiff’s attorney. Our underwriters will evaluate the materials and determine whether funding can be extended. If approved, a contract is issued to be signed by the plaintiff and his/her attorney. There are no credit checks, employment verification, or monthly payments. We are repaid from the proceeds of the settlement, but if there is no recovery on the case, no repayment is required.

If you have been injured in an auto accident, or have a loved one who was injured or killed as the result of an auto accident, you should seek advice from an experienced attorney. After hiring an attorney, if you wish to learn more about the benefits of lawsuit funding, contact Lawsuit Financial at 1-877-377-7848.

Cell Phone Use behind the Wheel May Result in Life Altering Consequences

Texting while driving is dangerous; it often leads to a serious or fatal crash. If you or someone you love is a victim of a negligent driver you may be entitled to compensation for damages, such as medical expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering. It is important to retain an experienced attorney who can help get the justice you deserve. Once the litigation process is underway, you may find yourself in need of financial assistance. That is the time to consider lawsuit funding.

A 60-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after she was hit head-on by a 16-year-old who crossed the center line while allegedly changing music on his phone. The woman’s foot was nearly severed and she sustained multiple broken bones, rib fractures, and internal bleeding. She spent two weeks in the hospital, including being on a ventilator. Being unable to move on her own and requiring 24-hour care, the woman was transferred to a nursing home.

The teen escaped unharmed; he had received his driver’s license just two days before the crash. He was cited for use of a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle.

The woman may never maintain the freedom she once had. She has also been struggling to pay the bills since her insurance ran out. Her family believes that the teen should be held accountable for his actions and his parents accountable for not carrying enough insurance. There is no word whether a lawsuit has been filed, but if so, this woman could be eligible for lawsuit funding.

The litigation process can be painful physically, emotionally, and financially, but it may be the only means to justice. Unfortunately, during this time, the bills won’t stop coming; creditors won’t stop calling. Lawsuit funding from an experienced service provider is one way to prevent an early and inadequate case resolution. An experienced legal finance company can put cash in your hands within 24 to 48 hours which, in turn, allows you to focus on getting better and obtaining a fair result in your pending litigation. With lawsuit funding there are no application fees, monthly payments, credit checks or employment verifications. The application process is quick and easy; it takes less than five minutes. Unlike a bank loan, lawsuit funding is non-recourse; this, means that if you lose your case, you are not obligated to repay the cash advance.

For questions regarding lawsuit funding, call the experts at Lawsuit Financial; call 1-877-377-7848 today.

Family of Elderly Man Killed in Golf Cart Death Obtains Settlement

Every year in the U.S. there are approximately 15,000 golf cart accidents that result in injuries serious enough to warrant a visit to the hospital, according to data collected by the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC). Only about half of golf cart accidents actually occur on golf courses.

Injuries occur most often when passengers fall out of a moving cart after the driver makes a sharp turn without warning. Why? The “open air” design of a golf cart and its lack of safety mechanisms such as seat belts provides very little support for passengers. Additionally, the rear-facing seats on the back of the cart do nothing to prevent someone from being ejected during bumps or sharp turns. Not only can golf cart accidents lead to injuries and death, they can also lead to litigation.

A confidential settlement has been reached in a 2015 lawsuit that was filed after a 75-year-old man who died following a brain injury after falling from a golf cart at an apartment complex.
The deceased man and his wife had recently moved from Alaska to Texas to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Searching for a new apartment, a leasing agent offered to show the couple a few different model apartments using the property’s golf cart, which was frequently used to travel within the apartment complex. The woman sat in the front seat with the leasing agent while her husband sat in the rear seat. The leasing agent reversed the golf cart and began driving towards one of the property’s gates, when suddenly and without warning, she made an unexpected tight left turn. With no seat belts or hand-holds for the back seat and carrying an umbrella in one hand, the man was thrown from the cart, according to the lawsuit. He struck his head on the pavement, suffering brain injuries that ultimately led to his death eight days later.

The lawsuit alleged that the employee acted in negligence when she did not forewarn the visitors about the missing safety features of the golf cart and for driving recklessly, resulting in the man’s death. The family sought $1 million in damages; the final settlement amount has not been disclosed. The apartment complex has since added seat belts to the golf cart and changed its safety and training policies, said the plaintiff’s attorney.

When it comes to filing a legal claim such as this, your most valuable asset is an experienced attorney. Once you have filed a lawsuit, if your finances are stretched thin to the point that you can’t pay important bills, you may be able to obtain short-term financial relief with litigation funding.

Litigation funding is a non-recourse cash advance that provides the staying power necessary to avoid settling for pennies on the dollar. It will put you in a better position to recover full compensation for damages incurred. Once the case is reviewed, if approved for funding, the money can be available within 24 - 48 hours. Litigation funding is risk-free; if you don’t win, you are not required to pay back the lawsuit cash advance.

If you are seeking financial relief during a pending personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit, contact Lawsuit Financial to learn how a lawsuit cash advance can help you.

Repeated Drunk Driver Offender Causes Crash, Killing a 3-Year-Old and Injuring Several Others

Weeks after completing probation for driving drunk, a Florida man again got behind the wheel while under the influence. This time, he ran a stop sign, crossed over the westbound lanes of the four-lane divided highway and the median, and struck the driver side of a 2002 Chevrolet SUV.
A witness said she heard the crash and turned toward the highway as the SUV flipped multiple times, sending belongings and debris flying. The crash caused a 3-year-old and another child to be ejected through the windshield. The witness performed CPR on the three-year-old for nearly ten minutes until police arrived. The two adults in the SUV were uninjured and helped free the other three children. All seven were taken to an area hospital were the 3-year-old was later pronounced dead. Two of the other children were critically injured. The intoxicated driver, his 9-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son were not injured. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts.
A breathalyzer test after the crash showed the negligent driver had a blood-alcohol level between 0.125 and 0.128. State law presumes a driver is impaired at 0.08. He is being held without bail on multiple charges including DUI manslaughter. Records show that he has a lengthy history of arrests and driving infractions, including speeding, careless driving and shooting a gun out of a vehicle. Court records also show he settled an auto negligence suit in 2013 with a woman who said she was seriously injured in a crash. In December 2015, he failed field sobriety tests after running a stop sign and striking three road signs before coming to a stop. He was charged with drunk driving and his license was restricted to business-related travel until Dec. 29, 2016. After this most recent crash, a spokeswoman with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles said the agency will move to revoke his license for a year. Is it enough? This man has proven time and time again, that he will get behind the wheel while under the influence. Had he been stopped before, a little boy would be alive today.
While it won’t bring back this little boy, his family may choose to file a wrongful death lawsuit to recover expenses related to medical treatment, funeral and burial expenses, pain and suffering and more. An experienced wrongful death attorney is the best way to help them get the compensation they deserve.
Often times, achieving maximum compensation can take months, even years. Unfortunately, the wait can send victims into financial ruin. To help them cope financially until a lawsuit settlement, the victims can apply for auto accident lawsuit funding.
Lawsuit funding is an emergency cash advance to qualified plaintiffs that helps them get out of debt and keep their financial obligations current while waiting for a trial or settlement. It allows them to level the playing field and push for justice.

Funding decisions are based solely by the strength of the pending lawsuit; there are no credit checks, no employment verification and no upfront fees. If approved, the money can arrive within 24 – 48 hours. Repayment of the cash advance is made once the case settles, but if the funded plaintiff loses, the lawsuit cash advance is theirs to keep — no strings attached.
