Parachutist Falls 1,200 Feet From Plane in Florida

Authorities in central Florida have reported that a man fell to his death after his parachute deployed as he was kneeling by the jump door of a small aircraft.

According to witnesses in the plane, the reserve chute accidentally deployed and pulled the man from the aircraft. The victim hit the side of the plane and then fell some 1,200 to the ground. He was with a group doing military-style parachuting at the time of the incident. An investigation is underway.
