Nearly 200 Patients Exposed to Surgical Infection; Four Died.

Each year, nearly 100,000 people die as a result of surgical errors. Because it is often hard to prove medical negligence for surgical infections, it is important for victims to seek immediate legal counsel. Once a lawsuit has been filed a lawsuit, the plaintiff may qualify for lawsuit funding.

Fifteen patients were infected and four died after contracting a rare infection called Mycobacterium abscessus at Greenville Memorial Hospital. The infection came to light in March, when the first patient was diagnosed after a health care provider suspected something unusual and ordered a special test. Another case was identified in April, with the rest discovered over the next month and a half. Three of the cases date to 2013 before the outbreak was identified. Mycobacterium abscessus is typically found in soil and water, but rarely causes these infections, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

To date, three lawsuits have been filed on behalf of two people who died and another who suffered for months with post-surgical infections. The lawsuits allege that the hospital failed to adhere to national infectious disease practice and protocol and failed to ensure patient safety. The suits also allege that the hospital failed to make proper and timely diagnosis and failed to properly treat the infection. Additional lawsuits are expected.

During an investigation, it was discovered that more than 180 other patients were exposed to the bacteria. Greenville has settled one of the wrongful death lawsuits. The hospital has since adopted new water quality measures.

If you or a loved one has suffered pain, patient death, or health problems after surgery, you may be entitled to compensation. Your injury should be valued appropriately, reflecting the serious consequences and long-term financial and medical needs you may face. Moreover, your case may cause change in the system so that another family does not have to experience the same suffering.

Anonymous Letter Reveals Potential Nursing Home Abuse

Nursing home abuse may be the direct result of negligence and carelessness on the part of the staff or lack of care and attention to residents. If you suspect a loved one suffered a personal injury or wrongful death due to nursing home abuse or neglect, it is important to consult an experienced attorney as soon as possible. A lawsuit may be the only way to seek justice and compensation for one’s loss. It may also be a means to improve safety and quality of care. For victims seeking lawsuit funding while waiting for their case to settle, Lawsuit Financial can help.

A California family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Palm Village Retirement Center in Reedley and a nurse in its employ, based on the information contained in an anonymous letter. When their 93-year-old mother died less than a week before Thanksgiving, the family thought it was just old age. But, on the day of her memorial everything changed. The deceased woman’s son received a letter outlining at least two instances in the night when his mother complained of illness, and at least two instances of the night nurse refusing to assess her, even scolding staff members for bothering her with the information. The woman was found unresponsive later that morning and transported to Adventist Medical Center-Selma, where she died a day later. The family is asking for an unspecified amount for damages for pain and suffering, and for special and general damages for malice, fraud, recklessness and oppression.

Taking legal action is an effective way to stop such negligence and prevent it from happening to others. Unfortunately, the financial and emotional roller coaster of a lawsuit is equally as painful as the loss. Lawsuit Financial may be able to assist this family through any difficult financial issues they may face by providing a lawsuit cash advance. We offer a quick and easy approval process - less than 48 hours, with no upfront fees, monthly payments, credit checks or employment verification. Additionally, the money is provided risk-free; the family would not need to pay us back until the case successful settles. If they lose, the repayment is waived in its entirety.

If you or a loved one suffered physical or emotional injuries because an assisted living facility or nursing home was negligent or failed to fulfill its care obligations to your loved one, you may have grounds for a nursing home/assisted living negligence case. Contact an experience attorney as soon as possible. If you are seeking financial assistance, visit our website to learn more about lawsuit funding or to complete an online application. If you prefer to speak to one of our representatives regarding your case and funding needs, call us toll-free at 877-377-7848.

Lawsuit Funding: The Right Decision for the Right Settlement

Someone injured in an auto accident due to no fault of their own deserves to be compensated. However, a lengthy litigation process forces many plaintiffs to accept a settlement offer simply to make ends meet, especially if injuries resulted in lost income. Lawsuit funding gives plaintiffs the ability to stay the course and hold out for the largest settlement possible.

Lawsuit Financial offers a non-recourse cash advance on the expected settlement or verdict in a filed lawsuit. Our funding services include:

Easy Application. Applying for lawsuit advances is fast and easy; it takes less than five minutes online or over the phone.

No Credit or Employment Checks. Unlike traditional bank advances, credit history or employment status have no bearing on funding approval. The only collateral is a strong, winnable case.

No monthly payments. There are absolutely no payments until the case settles or a verdict is reached. Repayment is made from the case proceeds.

No risk: Lawsuit funding carries no risk to the plaintiff. If the case is lost, the plaintiff is not required to repay the cash advance.

Fast approval. Once an application is received and case documentation from the plaintiffs’ attorney, a funding decision can be made within 24 – 48 hours.

Fast Cash: Once approved for funding, the money can be wired directly into the plaintiffs’ bank account or sent overnight mail.

No Restrictions: While it is prudent to budget and spend the money wisely, there are no restrictions on how the plaintiff spends the lawsuit cash advance.

Don’t be tempted by the phrase “something is better than nothing.”  If you have been injured in an auto accident due to no fault of your own, have a pending lawsuit with attorney representation, and in need of immediate cash, get the compensation you deserve with a lawsuit cash advance from Lawsuit Financial.
