Motorcycle accidents
present an increased risk of fatality over any other auto accident. Most often
these collisions are the result of negligence on the part of a car or truck
driver. The injuries are often seriously disabling or worse, and victims and
their families often need financial assistance to survive the litigation with
any financial dignity. In such situations, lawsuit funding can be a valuable
resource.
An investigation is
ongoing regarding a fatal auto-motorcycle crash on July 27 in Wyoming, Michigan.
Police said the
driver of a semi, who was traveling westbound on 44th, misunderstood
the traffic lights as he turned onto southbound US-131. He turned in front of an
eastbound motorcyclist, who had the green light, causing the motorcycle to hit
the semi’s trailer. The motorcyclist was rushed to a local hospital where he
died from injuries sustained. No one else was injured in the crash.
The legal
professionals at Lawsuit Financial know that such an accident can have
devastating financial consequences on surviving family members. Filing and
waiting for a case settlement can take a long time, during which, plaintiffs
often feel financial and emotional stress. This is why many will work with
their attorney to secure a lawsuit cash advance, known as lawsuit funding.
Lawsuit
funding is a non-recourse
cash advance against the pending claim. Unlike a bank loan, there is no need
for a credit check or employment verification. We provide funding on case merit
alone and repayment is made once the case settles. If the case does not settle
in our client’s favor, we completely waive repayment of the cash advance.
There is no mountain of paperwork to complete for funding; we only
require a quick and easy one-page application which is available online for
your convenience. Once approved, we can typically provide cash within 24 – 48
hours, via overnight mail or direct deposit.
Have you been
seriously injured or lost a loved one due to no fault of your own? Have you
retained a contingent-fee attorney? Are you in a financial bind because of
a drawn out legal battle? Are you in need of financial support to avoid
settling your claim too soon and for too little just to pay the bills?
If you answered yes to these questions, call Lawsuit
Financial to learn how lawsuit funding
can help you. If you are ready to apply for a lawsuit cash advance, click here for our
online application.

Colorado Family's Disney Trip Ends Abruptly By Alleged Drunk Driver
A Colorado
man, his fiancé and two young daughters, ages 5 and 7, are recovering from
serious injuries suffered last week when their minivan
was rear-ended by an alleged drunk driver.
While the family was stopped
in traffic as troopers investigated a separate DUI crash, an alleged drunk
driver collided with the van at high speed. The collision forced the van
underneath a semi. The family was on their way to the airport for a surprise
Disney trip for the girls when the crash occurred. The driver suffered several
broken bones, a broken vertebrae and a
laceration to his back. His fiancé was treated for a severe
head wound. The conditions of the young girls are unclear.
The
investigation is ongoing, but friends of the family said medical bills have
already mounted significantly and injuries will keep the man out of work for
months. While they have set up a GoFundMe page, it may not be enough to sustain
this family financially.
The law provides victims the right to recover damages from a negligent
party. These damages include but are not limited to medical expenses, lost
wages, pain and suffering and other losses. If the family files a personal
injury lawsuit, it is likely they will be fighting against an insurance company
whose main focus is to maintain profits and minimize recovery costs. This is
one reason Lawsuit Financial
always recommends that innocent victims consult an experienced auto accident
attorney. If the family needs help locating an attorney, we would be happy to
help assist through our nationwide attorney referral program. Within 24 hours,
we will provide at least one,
most likely three top-notch attorneys. Best of all, this legal referral service
is absolutely free.
Once a lawsuit is filed. Lawsuit Financial would be happy to assist the
family with any financial needs. We provide lawsuit funding for those expecting
a settlement from a pending lawsuit, verdict, or judgment, but are unable to
wait for the often slow, legal process due to mounting bills and expenses.
Lawsuit funding is not a “lawsuit
loan”, but rather a cash advance against the pending claim. There are no
credit checks, employment verification, upfront fees or monthly
payments. Best of all, our clients are only obligated to repay the lawsuit cash
advance if they win their case. That is correct; it the case is lost, repayment
is completely waived.
To get started, a plaintiff can simply complete our
online funding application or call our office to speak to a funding
representative. Our
experienced, professional staff understands these types of situations and we will
do our best to provide financial assistance as quickly as possible, typically
in less than 48 hours.
If you have pending personal injury lawsuit and
attorney representation, you are eligible for lawsuit funding. Contact Lawsuit Financial online or via
phone to apply or for a free, no obligation consultation.

Pokémon Go: More Proof that Phones and Driving Don’t Mix
It is common knowledge that
distracted driving – especially texting and driving, plays a significant role
in thousands of auto accidents every year. Now there is a new distraction on
the go - Pokémon Go!
Last week, a driver admitted to being distracted by Pokémon Go
when he drove off the road and crashed into a tree. He was lucky to escape with
only a broken ankle and cuts on both legs. Thankfully, no one was in the passenger seat because impact of the crash nearly
sent the engine into the passenger compartment.
Last Saturday, a driver under the influence of Pokémon Go collided with
a parked
police car. The officers had
just responded to a 911 call and were standing on the sidewalk when their squad
car was hit at a high rate of speed. “That’s what I get for playing this dumb a**
game,” the distracted driver told the officers. Fortunately, no one was seriously
injured.
Two days later, Washington State Police cited a man for causing
a rear-end collision. He, too, admitted to playing Pokémon Go while driving. No injuries
were reported.
Although the game disables some features over 20 miles
per hour, Pokémon Go is just the latest temptation for drivers. In fact, Pokémon
Go, could be a bigger distraction than texting while driving as motorists may easily
become much more immersed in the game than in a text. That leads
to the question - Could this create liability
issues for Niantic, the game’s developer, in the event of a serious or
fatal crash?
A full-screen warning is displayed during loading that warns
users against distracted playing, including warnings against playing while driving.
A warning also pops up every time the app is opened, telling
players to aware of their surroundings. The game’s Terms of Service (TOS)
include a disclaimer that says the
company is not liable for any property damage, injuries or deaths that result while
playing. Although app users acknowledge the liability disclaimer, it may not apply in certain situations.
For example, if a player causes a car crash, the disclaimer may not extend to
an injured third party.
Irrelevant of whether or not Niantic's Terms of
Service insulates the company completely from liability claims, each of us must
take personal responsibility for making safe and smart decisions while driving.
That means putting the phone down. One quick text or glance to see the next
Pokéstop could change your life forever!

Driving While Fatigued May Not Be Illegal, But It Is Dangerous
Although those
most likely to drive while drowsy or fatigued are commercial truck drivers and
late-night shift workers, anyone can be a drowsy driver. All it takes is a late
night, lack of sleep, or “burning the candle” at both ends to put motorists at
risk of a serious or fatal accident.
A 21-year-old Michigan woman was hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries after a one-vehicle rollover accident in Big Rapids Township. The preliminary investigation revealed that she fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of the vehicle.
A U-Haul truck struck a railing and an overpass pillar on I-44 near Elgin, Oklahoma. Police said the driver fell asleep at the wheel and veered right, first striking the railing and then crashing into the pillar. The driver escaped unharmed.
An investigation by police in Saugerties, New York determined that a 27-year-old who was driving a pick-up truck fell asleep behind the wheel before he veered into oncoming traffic and hit a minivan. The pick-up truck then continued, striking a second vehicle head-on. The driver of the second vehicle suffered neck and back injuries; the other 6 people involved in the incident, including four children, were not injured.
Police in Dougherty County, Georgia reported that a two-vehicle crash was the result of one driver falling asleep behind the wheel. Both vehicles overturned in the collision. The at-fault driver was treated for minor injuries; the other driver was not injured.
These accidents illustrate that driver tiredness and fatigue is an ongoing problem on our roadways. The major problem is that tiredness and fatigue can often affect your driving long before you ever realize that you are getting tired. Therefore, it is important to recognize these signs:

Safe Scootering for Summer
Scooters
have been popular among children and teenagers for the last several years.
Whether non-motorized or the higher-priced motorized type, scooters can be seen
in virtually every neighborhood. But as they have become increasingly more
popular, so have the number of scooter-related injuries especially during the
summer months. While the
majority of injuries are cuts, bruises and sprains, injuries can also be more
serious, such as broken bones and dislocations. If the crash involves a
vehicle, injuries could be catastrophic, including a head injury,
spinal cord injury, or even death.
- A Kentucky child was left in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while riding on an electric scooter. The collision occurred in the center of the roadway.
- A 9-year-old Massachusetts boy was transported to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle while riding his scooter. No additional details about the crash were immediately released.
- A 12-year-old New York girl was riding a power scooter and suffered head and facial injuries after she was struck by a vehicle. The girl was not wearing a helmet at the time.
-
Wear an approved helmet that meets safety standards. It is also important to find the right fit.
- Use knee and elbow pads.
- Wear closed-toed, sturdy shoes, with some support in the ankles.
- Check the height and weight suggestions or restrictions of the scooter to be sure it is the perfect one for your child.
- Ride scooters on smooth, paved surfaces without traffic, and avoid streets and surfaces with water, sand, gravel or dirt.
- Know how to stop suddenly and make quick turns.
- Make eye contact. When you see motorists, make sure they see you especially before crossing the street.
- Leave the earbuds and headphones at home so you can listen for approaching vehicles.
- Do not ride scooters at night.
- Young children should not use scooters without close supervision.
